CTRA Online
The CTRA Programs at
Durham Technical Community College is excited to announce that
many of the CTRA courses are now offered online. The following
courses are offered via distance learning:
- CTR110 Introduction to Clinical Research,
- CTR115 Clinical Research Regulations
- CTR112 Clinical Research Terminology
- CTR 220 Research Site Management
The above coursework
plus MAT151 Statistics I and PHI240 Introduction to Ethics (or
Statistics and Ethics at another institution) meets the course
requirements for Certificate Level 1 of the CTRA Program.
The following additional
courses are available online for Certificate Level 2:
- CTR 130 Clinical Research Management
- CTR120 Research Protocol Design
- CTR210 Research Data and Reports (proposed for
Summer 2005)
Durham Tech Community
College uses Blackboard 6 to deliver all online courses (see http://courses.durhamtech.edu:8000/). All
program admission criteria and pre-requisite requirements apply
to take these courses and fully accepted program students are given
first priority to take all CTRA courses, including those given
online. A non-program student may be given special permission
by the Program Director to take CTR110 Introduction to Clinical
Research if there is room in the course and on a discretionary
basis.
Each student interested
in taking an online course at Durham Tech must go through the
formal permission process every semester the student
wants to request an online course. A list of courses and the instructions
on obtaining permission to take an online course may be found on The
Open Campus at http://online.durhamtech.edu/ . After
permission is granted by the instructor, the student will be authorized
to register for the course.
CTRA online courses
meet the same learning objectives as the classroom sections but
usually require additional time with outside reading and assignments
to meet these objectives. To learn more about online learning
